Get an Unforgettable Adventure on a PADI Freediver Course in Koh Tao, Thailand.
Our experienced freediving instructors understand that you might be hesitant when freediving for the first time and they will help you feel more at ease, using a personal approach tailored to your specific needs. They will guide you step by step until you become more confident in the water and learn how to be a good freediver.
The PADI Freediver course in Koh Tao splits into 3 blocks: theory, pool training, and diving in the sea.
For your convenience, we keep group sizes small, with a maximum of 3 students per freediving instructor. However, most of the time, you can expect no more than 2 students per freediving instructor.
The Koh Tao PADI Freediver course has a flexible schedule and we can work around your own personal needs and timeframe.
12.00 – 15.30: Theory Session
In this session you will learn the physics and physiology of freediving, as well as practice different freediving techniques, such as middle ear equalization, special breathing and relaxation techniques.
16.00 – 18.00: Pool Session # 1
In this session you will learn how to hold your breath underwater in a relaxed and safe manner. With the help of your freediving instructor your breath-holding time will reach 90 seconds or even more. Plus you will learn important freediving safety and rescue techniques.
08.00 – 10.00: Pool Session # 2
In the second pool session you will learn how to swim underwater with long fins, as well as keep working on your safety and rescue skills.
13.00 – 15.00:
Open Water Training Dive 1
Finally you get to test your breath-holding skills at sea. Under the careful guidance of your instructor, you will learn how to dive meter by meter until you reach up to 10 meters below the surface. There is no rush, as our top priority is your safety and freeing feeling of being underwater, rather than the actual depth you can dive.
08.00 – 09.00: Stretching/Breathing Session.
In this session you will learn a special technique and insights from yoga and meditation practice, all of which will help you remain relaxed when you are holding your breath under water.
